We’ve told you some of the reasons why you might want to add cabbage to your diet, so we figured we should give you a recipe to try! This Asian slaw is very easy to make and it adds the perfect crunch to any meal.
Asian Slaw Recipe
Ingredients
- *bold*Slaw:
- 4 cups of chopped cabbage (roughly half a cabbage)
- 1 cup of chopped cilantro
- 3-4 chopped green onions (use the whites and the green)
- *bold*Dressing:
- 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
- 2.5 teaspoons of sesame oil
- 1/4 cup of white wine vinegar
- 1 teaspoon of soy sauce or coconut aminos
- 2 minced garlic cloves
- 1/2 teaspoon of dried ginger or you can use freshly minced ginger root
- a squirt of honey
- Bonus ingredients: chili flakes, sesame seeds, mandarins, etc.
Instructions
- Combine all of your slaw ingredients and give it a gentle mix.
- Set it aside while you mix all of your dressing ingredients in another bowl.
- Once both have been prepared, pour dressing over the cabbage and gently mix it.
- Taste it and add any additional ingredients. Ours needed a pinch of salt and another drizzle of sesame oil.
- Your slaw is ready to go, at this point, you can add additional ingredients, such as sesame seeds, chili flakes, mandarins, etc.
- Enjoy your slaw in a wrap, as a side, or even topped with protein as a salad!
