The myth that some specific form of exercise will reduce fat on a specific part of your body, though debunked by fitness experts, continues to be promoted in ads and social media posts. While’s it’s true that an appropriate and regular exercise program, done over a long period of time, can make a big difference to your health and improve your body’s ability to manage energy, there’s no evidence that any given exercise reduces body fat in any particular place. 

And if you want to see your abs, exercise alone probably won’t get you there—how you eat has a much greater effect on whether, how, and where your body stores energy in the form of fat. The best way to target belly fat? Eat real food, instead of the highly refined and ultra-processed foods that are known to cause weight gain.
